Accidently hit the one-star in haste. Ours was definitely a 5-star experience. Very pleased with the product performance and the processing and handling of the order.
We really love this coffeemaker. Grinding the beans each time provides better taste than just using grounds. Have had it about a year and other than breaking a carafe have had no problems with it. Find it only takes a couple of minutes to clean and we are enjoying fresh tasting coffee every day which is better than we get in restaurants. I also use it for making iced tea by putting the bags in the container and turning off the grind feature. I add water to the concentrated 12 cup brew and end up with a gallon of great tea.
Bought this for my son and his wife for Christmas. Sent item back the first time because the lid was broken. Coffeemaker worked well, but the lid keeps popping up and the machine stops when the lid is up. Not happy with it at all. Next one was not broken, but won't stay shut. Would not buy a cuisinart again. I purchased a Cuisinart 2 yrs ago,also a grind and brew, and it quit working. Will not buy a Cuisinart coffeemaker again.
this coffeemaker was to replace one I had and loved, which has a little tab on the lid to make the "connections" so it brews the coffee. almost cried. and went to Macy's and checked the lid latch before bringing it to the register (this, the DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS, AT THE MALL, IN AN ICE STORM. at the holidays. better Quality Control from wherever this came from would have been good. with snow). It was eagerly awaited (going to Dunkin Donuts was another layer of time in the morning. went to Amazon.com for return protocols and wrapped it up the next morning (too upset that night).
and arrived earlier than promised by Amazon. I unwrapped it, put the washable parts aside, and set it up.and the lid would not close. how bad did I miss my coffeemaker.).so, I do love this coffeemaker, as the one I got at Macy's was the same model (just was a bit less $ and mall avoiding at Amazon) sorry Amazon. I don't blame Amazon.Cuisinart should probably make this important part a bit sturdier.
